Velocys – the renewable fuels company.
Velocys is focused on developing a series of biorefineries, with its partners, to address the growing, attractive market for renewable jet fuel and diesel, principally in the US.
The company provides a cost-effective route from low cost, woody biomass to advanced biofuels and associated carbon credits. There is an abundance of suitable feedstock from entirely sustainable sources, allowing the Velocys route to be highly scalable to meet increased demand. Velocys also provides a scalable, cost-effective route to renewable fuels from municipal waste.
Velocys and its partners are on course to produce around 20 million gallons per year of drop-in renewable fuels by 2022 – the use of which significantly decreases greenhouse gas and particulate emissions relative to conventional fuels. Velocys' biorefineries will enhance energy independence, create jobs and promote the economic development of rural economies.
Velocys plc is admitted to trading on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange (LSE: VLS). First product has been produced at its commercial reference plant, which is located adjacent to Waste Management's East Oak landfill site in Oklahoma City. Velocys' world-class capabilities, people and experience deliver a proven route to operation.
