Altalto

We are developing a commercial plant in Immingham, UK, to make Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), in collaboration with British Airways.

Altalto Immingham, on a 78-acre site, is one of the most advanced waste-to-SAF projects in the world. It will process municipal and commercial solid waste, otherwise destined for landfill or incineration, to produce 20 million gallons per year of sustainable fuels with net negative carbon emissions, saving 350,000 tonnes per year of CO2 and achieving a 150% reduction in greenhouse gases compared to conventional jet fuel.

Planning consent has been granted, and the project has received a £27M award from the Department for Transport’s Advanced Fuels Fund to progress Front End Engineering Design. The SAF from the plant will be enough to power over 1000 flights from London to New York per year.
