Bayou Fuels

Bayou Fuels is a pioneering facility located in Natchez, Mississippi which will produce 36 million gallons per year of negative-emission transportation fuels (avoiding over 1.3m tons of CO2 per year) using a combination of biogenic feedstock, biomass power and carbon capture and sequestration.

Long-term structured offtake agreements have been established for 100% of SAF with Southwest Airlines (15 years) and a MOU with IAG/British Airways (10 years). The plant will have a 100% renewable power supply with negative carbon intensity.

Bayou Fuels will benefit from the Inflation Reduction Act legislation which includes a SAF producer tax credit (45Z) and carbon sequestration credit (45Q). The plant design has been further optimised for maximum decarbonisation and will produce fuels with a negative carbon intensity of -375g CO2e/MJ. These carbon emission reductions are equivalent to avoiding 1.1 million economy roundtrips from San Francisco to London per annum.
